Performance
- Can I see KPI trends or history? Not yet. A KPI keeps only its current value. The History card shows when it was created or updated and by whom, but not past values or charts.
- How to add a KPIIn Performance choose New KPI, enter the Name, owner, status, unit, target, current value and reporting period, then choose Create KPI.
- How to add commentary to a KPI resultOn the measure's Actuals tab, fill in the Commentary when you submit an actual, or use Commentary for the period afterwards and choose Save commentary: what happened, why, impact, forecast, action and decision required.
- How to calculate a KPI from a formulaOn the measure's Formula tab write the expression with measure references such as [KPI-0003] / [KPI-0004] * 100, choose Save formula, then Calculate now. A missing input or division by zero gives No data, never 0; each result keeps the formula version and inputs.
- How to change a KPI target safely (versions and approval)On the measure's Targets tab use Change the target with a reason and the date it applies from, then Save target. Every change is a new version; on an approved strategy it waits for the owner's or sponsor's approval while the target in effect keeps applying.
- How to choose a KPI's direction (higher, lower, target value or range)On the measure's Definition (or the How it is judged step of New measure) choose the Direction: Higher is better, Lower is better, Target value, Target range, Binary or milestone, or Custom. The calculated status reads the actual against the target in that direction.
- How to close or reopen a reporting periodOpen Measures & KPIs → Reporting periods. Organization owners and administrators choose Close period on an ended period to lock its actuals, and Reopen with a reason to correct it.
- How to get started with PVology PerformanceOpen Applications → Performance. It keeps a KPI register with a unit, target, current value, reporting period and status. Choose New KPI to add one.
- How to read a KPI from CRM (or ProjectOrbit, Value, Governance & Assurance)On the measure's Source tab choose a PVology figure, for example CRM win rate, pipeline value or days to close, and choose Bind source. The figure comes from the source application's own calculation; if it cannot be read, the measure shows Source unavailable with the last value.
- How to set or change a KPI targetOpen the KPI, enter the number in Target (and the Unit), and choose Save changes.
- How to update a KPI's current valueOpen the KPI, enter the latest figure in Current value, update Reporting period and Status, and choose Save changes. The previous value is replaced.
- PVology Performance: common questionsPerformance needs the application in your plan and, in an organization, a licence. AI help inside Performance is not available yet. Sample KPIs can be added and removed, and Export CSV downloads your records.
- What do On track, Watch and Off track mean for a KPI?They are the status the KPI owner chooses: On track (meeting the target), Watch (needs attention) and Off track (not meeting the target). PVology does not calculate the status from target and current value.
- Why can't I update this KPI?Why can't I? on the measure's Actuals tab gives the reason: the reporting period is closed, the measure is calculated from a formula or archived, your access to Performance is read-only or missing, or you are a viewer of the restricted strategy it serves.
- Why does my KPI say No data (it used to say On track)?Since release 0.45.0 the status is calculated: a period that is due without an accepted actual is No data, never On track and never 0. Before, the status was chosen by hand and new KPIs started as On track even without a value. The earlier status is kept on the record.
