What do identified, recommended, approved, forecast, realized and verified value mean?

Short answer: They are separate stages that PVology never adds together: identified (estimates on opportunities), recommended (proposals put forward), approved (accepted by the decision maker), forecast (expected after approval), realized (measured with evidence) and verified (confirmed by an approver).

Verified for PVology 0.19.0 · updated 2026-10-06

Why it matters:

Reporting potential savings as if they were achieved misleads decision makers. PVology keeps each stage in its own field.
