What do Required, Recommended, Optional and Advanced mean?
Short answer: Required information is needed to create a valid record and says why. Recommended information is not required but enables more (for example reports, dashboards or links between applications) and says what it enables. Optional information is useful for some cases. Advanced is for specialised workflows.
