How to plan a pilot and decide on its result
Short answer: On the case's Pilots tab choose Plan a pilot (hypothesis, change, scope, dates, baseline, expected result), then Start the pilot. Record the actual result and the decision: Adopt, Expand, Adapt, Retest, Review the root cause, Reject or Stop. A pilot that missed its target is never adopted; failed pilots stay listed.
